I’m a Mum to 3 children; 2 boys and a baby girl. And a Labrador named Daisy who after 13 years still thinks she is human and not a dog.
We are a household that spends our weekends on the water wakeboarding and water-skiing behind our family boat. A bad day on the water is still a better day than one spent at home.
My friends tell me I’m the most organised person they know. I love a list and use post-it notes for everything. I sometimes even have lists of lists.
I love my exercise in the morning. It clears my mind ready for the day ahead. And after all that hard work during the week I can enjoy relaxing on the weekend out on the water and socialising without guilt.
Almost 25 years ago I fell into HR. My university degree is a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and Behavioural Science. Most of my work has been with small to medium size enterprises (SME’s) working predominately in the Construction Industry. But the Construction Industry is vast. I have worked with companies that build Data Centres, companies that service the Civil Infrastructure, Mining and Utilities Market, and supporting a really intelligent group of consulting engineers in the Civil and Structural Environment.
I’ve been a small business owner for almost 15 years and have a real appreciation of the benefits of hard work.
My experience is varied as a Recruitment Specialist and HR Generalist. Quite often a company’s greatest assets are its employees, and through effective and proven recruitment techniques I have assisted people and business to thrive through the right connection.
I have facilitated cultural improvements in business, developed programs to attract the right candidates, and once the perfect connection is made ensuring the right programs are in place to retain those perfect people. I have facilitated mediation within business, reduced and clarified risk to business through implementation of effective and appropriate policy, established training and development processes, and implemented onboarding programs that ensure the employment journey continues to flourish after the first day.
